Secure online shopping - keeping your credit card and personal information safe
Pathway Information Technology Ltd is a New Zealand owned and operated business. All transactions billed in NZD.
We have no way of seeing your credit card number when you shop with us. Your credit card details are encrypted before they leave your computer. With real-time transaction processing through Transactor, the payment is transferred electronically between your bank and ours and the credit card number is stored only in encrypted form and not on our website.
All data passed between your computer and our web server is encrypted to modern standards and uses the https protocol. In order to generate an SSL link, a web server requires an SSL Certificate - a critical aspect in building trust and guaranteeing that the site is safe to do business with. This assures online visitors that confidential information and transactions cannot be viewed, intercepted or altered. Even if hackers or another third-party could somehow see the credit card and personal data you enter, it would be a stream of meaningless rubbish. Your personal information is not decrypted until it reaches the secure server where it is isolated behind a firewall - inaccessible from the Internet.
When your browser connects to the payment secure pages it retrieves the SSL Certificate and checks that it has not expired, that it has been issued by a Certification Authority the browser trusts, and that it is being used by the website for which it has been issued. If it failed on any one of these checks the browser would display a warning to you.

Respect for your privacy
Any information you typed into our website is held with complete care and security, available only to trained and authorized team members who need access in order to process your orders. It will be used to expedite your transactions, to send you any information you have requested, and to help us manage and develop the site to deliver superior service to our users. Delivery personnel may have access to your customer information, as may our suppliers where drop-shipping occurs. We respect your privacy and will never sell or share your email address or any identifying information about individual users unless required by law.

Cookies
Modern online shopping technology uses cookies to improve the efficiency and convenience of your shopping experience. Enabling cookie support on your browser strengthens the communication between you and this site, ensures that it is you who is making transactions on your behalf, and helps to keep your personal information secure. If cookies are disabled on your browser you can still look around the site, but you must enable cookies in order to access your account information or to use the shopping basket and purchase online.
Cookies are very small text files that your browser stores on your computer, recording information you gave us so you will not have to remember it each time you visit our website. Cookies record your site preferences and keep track of your order. They do not give us access to your computer or any other personal information about you other than the data you knowingly provide. They will not harm your computer and they cannot be read by a third party.

Fraudulent orders
Unfortunately there are people who place fraudulent orders via the internet using stolen or bogus credit card numbers, in conjunction with web-based free email accounts which are difficult to trace. We aim to give the best possible service to honest users, so we're aggressive when it comes to preventing and following up on fraud. Alongside each order we record the IP address of the computer and the domain name from which the internet was accessed.
We reserve the right to exchange information with other companies or organisations (for the purpose of protection from fraud and credit risks), and to reverse any transaction where we're uncomfortable about the information supplied.

Spam and unwanted email
We detest spam and endeavor to make instructions clear and unambiguous so you'll know what you're signing up for on our mailing lists.
We use email to communicate with our customers but we don't want to annoy anyone. If you no longer wish to receive product information or other emails from us, please let us know so we can make sure you are removed from future mailings. Our emails are intended to be beneficial to our users and only for those who want to receive them.
If at any time you have concerns about security and confidentiality related to this site, or about our use of your personal information, please contact us on sales@eways.co.nz or use the Contact Us page.
We're always happy to help, and if you have any questions at all please contact us.
